"Good morning, everyone, you are all going to have to be very patient with me today, I'm afraid. Because I really want to start again from scratch. I really am most terribly sorry."
-John Gielgud

I'm an umpteen-year-old geek-in-training. My scholarly loves include Shakespeare and Ancient Rome; my fandom loves include the one place where those two overlap (that being Julius Caesar), and, to some degree, Star Trek and Harry Potter. I'm relatively new to Shakespeare love (about a year in), and thus far my three favorites are Caesar, Hamlet, and Twelfth Night. I write strange fanfic (mostly slash, crack, and AUs, all three of which I love with a passion) and make stanger fanvids, both of which usually involve Caesar. I casually enjoy The Office and 30 Rock, love Slings & Arrows, and am currently progressing through have finished ROME. I love slash, as mentioned above, but I also love femmeslash, which the world needs more of. And that should about sum it up! If you'd like to friend me, by all means, do so. :D

more quotes:

"The remarkable thing about Shakespeare is that he really is very good, in spite of all the people who say he is very good."
-Robert Graves

"FEBRUARY 7TH: Rehearsals begin. No introductions, no explanation, just 'Shall we read it?' Everybody stiff and nervous, until halfway through Act 1 someone lets go with an uninhibited fart. Everyone seems relieved."
-from the diary of Hume Cronyn, quoted in John Gielgud: The Authorized Biography

"...one can do virtually anything with Hamlet. You can play him fat, skinny, normal, mad, a hero, a coward, a college dropout, a would-be intellectual. He's been played as a clown, a buffoon, a transvestite, a homosexual, and, in the l8th century, he was even played by a dog."
-Charles Marowitz
